What conditions can physiotherapy help with?
Physiotherapy can help with a wide range of conditions affecting movement, strength, balance, mobility and independence. We support people long-term health conditions and neurological conditions, helping you to manage your symptoms and stay active and independent as possible.
Physiotherapy can be beneficial if you are experiencing reduced mobility, muscle weakness, balance difficulties, problems with walking or repeated falls. Your treatment and exercise programme will be tailored to your individual needs, abilities and goals.
Do you provide stroke rehabilitation?
Yes. We provide personalised stroke rehabilitation and exercise support for people living with the longer-term effects of stroke.
Sessions can focus on areas such as strength, balance, walking, mobility, upper-limb function, confidence and everyday activities. Programmes are adapted to the individual and can complement previous NHS rehabilitation.

Exercise can include strength, balance, mobility, functional movement, large-amplitude movements and cardiovascular exercise where appropriate. Group exercise is also available through our Stronger with Parkinson’s sessions.
Can physiotherapy help with balance problems and falls?
Yes. Balance and falls prevention are an important part of our work. Assessment and exercise can focus on leg strength, balance, walking, coordination, confidence and functional movements. The aim is to help you move more safely and confidently and maintain your independence.
Can I have physiotherapy even if I have finished NHS rehabilitation?
Yes. Some people need ongoing support after completing NHS rehabilitation. We provide longer-term, community-based rehabilitation and exercise for people who want to continue working on their strength, mobility, balance and independence after formal rehabilitation has finished.
This can provide a bridge between short-term rehabilitation and maintaining an active lifestyle.
What type of exercise is suitable for older adults?

It can include strength training, balance exercises, mobility exercises, cardiovascular exercise and functional exercises.
