The Story Behind New Horizons

New Horizons Health & Wellbeing was created because rehabilitation shouldn't have to end when your NHS treatment does.

There is often a gap between NHS rehabilitation and the ongoing support people need to continue building strength, improving balance, maintaining mobility and staying active.

That's where New Horizons comes in.

Our aim is to bridge the gap between healthcare and exercise, creating a welcoming space where people can continue their journey beyond traditional rehabilitation. We believe that with the right support, rehabilitation can become more than simply recovering from an illness or injury.

Whether through physiotherapy at home, one-to-one training in the gym or a friendly community exercise class, our goal is the same:

To help you feel stronger, move with confidence and keep doing the things you love.

Prevention, Not Just Rehabilitation

We don't believe you should have to wait until something goes wrong before you start looking after your health.

Prevention is at the heart of what we do. Staying active, maintaining strength and working on balance and mobility can help you remain independent. You don't need to be recovering from an injury or illness to benefit from physiotherapy or exercise support. Sometimes the best time to start is before you need it.

Whether you're looking to maintain your strength as you get older, improve your balance, stay active with a long-term health condition or simply keep doing the things you enjoy, we can help you build healthy habits for the future.

Our aim is to help you stay strong, stay active and stay independent for as long as possible.

Our Approach

Our approach is relaxed, friendly and completely centred around you, delivering treatment plans tailored to your needs, goals and abilities.

We'll take the time to understand where you are now, where you want to be and what might help you get there.

Your programme might involve physiotherapy, rehabilitation exercises, strength training, balance work, mobility exercises or simply learning how to feel more confident moving again.

What We Believe

People come first

You're not a diagnosis, a number or a set of symptoms. We take time to understand you, what matters to you and what you want to achieve.

Exercise should be accessible

You don't need to be fit or strong to get started. Exercise can be adapted to meet you where you are and progressed as you become stronger and more confident.

Small changes can make
a big difference

Progress isn't always about huge transformations. Sometimes it's walking a little further, getting up from a chair more easily, feeling steadier on your feet or having the confidence to do something you had stopped doing.

And finally… exercise should be enjoyable!

We take what we do seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. We believe a friendly environment, a bit of encouragement and the occasional terrible joke can make exercise a lot more enjoyable.

Jess from New Horizons Health & Wellbeing

Meet Jess

Founder, Physiotherapist and Personal Trainer

Hi, I'm Jess, the person behind New Horizons Health & Wellbeing.

I'm a Master's qualified Physiotherapist and exercise specialist, with over 10 years of experience in fitness, rehabilitation and supporting people to become stronger and more confident in their everyday lives. My passion is helping people build strength, improve balance, move with greater confidence and maintain their independence.

I enjoy working with older adults and people living with neurological and long-term health conditions, who may not always feel comfortable in a traditional gym or who need a little more understanding and support than a standard exercise programme can offer.

I'm also a big believer that rehabilitation shouldn't simply stop when NHS treatment ends. There is often so much more that can be achieved with the right combination of exercise, encouragement and support.

The Heart Behind My Work

My own experiences have shaped the way I approach my work. Going through my own health journey helped me understand how important it is to feel listened to, understood and supported. I am passionate about supporting others through their own challenges as they navigate their health journey.

Everyone's experience is different and I understand how life-changing a health challenge can feel. This experience has influenced the kind of practitioner I want to be.

Someone who listens. Someone who encourages. And someone who helps you find a way forward.

My goal is to meet you with empathy, encouragement, and personalised care that helps you feel heard, supported and empowered. My approach is relaxed, friendly and completely centred around you.
